You kindly fitted our transducers properly at Cobb’s Quay on Fencia in May this year and we said, when we saw you later at the Boat Show, that we’d let you know how we got on at winter haul-out.
Now, it is only anecdotal, but our sailing this year has been vastly improved. We sailed from UK to Portugal and we have a heavy boat (Nauticat 37) and were very happy to sail in light winds (8kts) throughout the season whereas in the past, less than 12 kts was a waste of time, even at the beginning of the season when the hull was clean. At haul-out (pictures attached) there was the expected sludge on the Hempel anti fouled areas, but nothing much, which came off very easily with the routine wash down. We had spent 3 weeks in Povoa de Varzim, a dirty Portuguese fishing port, and 8 weeks in Parques das Nações, Lisbon (which is heavily silted and a rich soupy water) so we were not surprised that our anodes were heavily barnacled (but easily removed). All in all, we are well pleased and wanted you to have that feed-back.
